Saab J29 Tunnan

Saab J29 Tunnan was a Swedish Air Force fighter. It was Sweden's second turbojet-powered combat aircraft, the first being the Saab 21R. In addition it was the first Western European fighter to be produced with swept wing. The first flight was made in 1948, the last one (in military service) in 1976.

The name "Tunnan" means "barrel". On the ground the plane was described as ugly duckling, in the air it was quite efective (in its times). The plane was used by Sweden and Austria. It was used in combat in The Republic of Congo as a part of UN peacekeeping forces.
